PayPalUsed student model Yamaha violin outfit, includes hard case, Everest shoulder rest and Glasser bow. No major dings or scratches, just a few small light scuffs from normal playing. Good action, bridge and soundpost set up well. Strong projection and balanced tone across the strings, E rings full and sweet. Decent tension on bow provides energetic and dynamic performance. Current strings are Evah Pirazzi Green. For a warmer, slightly more mid-focused tone I would suggest Thomastik Dominant+Pirastro Gold E, but these are solid lively strings that aren't too bright.
Previous owner upgraded tuning pegs, tailpiece and chinrest. Interestingly, they also appear to have applied some varnish to the neck (see reddish color in picture). Fortunately it feels smooth in the hand and isn't sticky so doesn't impede shifting.
Overall a strong performer for students moving to full size or those looking for a backup. Many of my students own or rent the V-5 model, but this is a particularly good example due to care, setup and age.
