ZelleThis came with an aquarium that I bought, but I already have a protein skimmer that I like, so I don’t need this. It wasn’t cleaned well with the previous owner, so I gave it a good cleaning and made sure everything was in good shape and in order. Nothing broken on it, O-rings in great shape, all fittings are tight, and I ran it for about a half hour in my sink. The foam sponge around the standpipe has a small tear in it, but doesn’t affect its performance or appearance. It runs like a top, the needle wheel pump is strong and quiet, and it will do great job for your tank once it’s broken in. I didn’t clean every little calcareous spot off the body because I didn’t want to scrape or haze the acrylic in doing so. These are $295 new, and there’s no reason this one shouldn’t run like new for years for you.
