Short legs, cute face, herding-dog attitude… and have you SEEN my squeaky chicken?!”
Hi, I’m Ruger!
Your guess is probably as good as ours when it comes to exactly what I am, but the shelter’s best guess is some combination of Border Collie, Heeler, and Corgi.
And honestly? I seem to have gotten a little something from everybody.
I’m small with that thick, adorable Corgi-like fur, I’ve got a face that looks very Border Collie, and then there’s my Heeler side… which occasionally reminds me that heels are for herding!
Because I can be a little nippy at heels, older or dog-savvy kids may be the best fit for me.
I came into the shelter with my buddy Otis, and it’s very obvious that we know each other. We’re comfortable together and enjoy each other’s company. Now that we’re settling in, the shelter will soon introduce me to some other dogs in the play yard so they can learn more about how I do with new canine friends. One thing they do know is that I am a little TOO interested in cats. So feline friends might not be the best for me.
Speaking of the play yard…
THE SQUEAKY CHICKEN.
I LOVE that thing. Give me my chicken, some room to play, and people to have fun with, and you’ll get to see what a silly, entertaining little guy I really am.
I’m estimated to be around 1 year old, so I’m still young and have plenty of learning to do. I’m also not neutered yet.
I’ll need a secure yard in my new home to keep me safely where I belong. With my age and herding-dog genetics, I’d also love a family that will keep my brain and body busy with walks, games, training, and plenty of playtime.
Most of all, I’m just a very sweet, ridiculously cute little dog with a fun personality who is ready to find out what comes next.
Hopefully it involves a family of my own.
And a squeaky chicken.
Definitely a squeaky chicken.
