At KSL Classifieds, we don’t just list pets for adoption — we love them. In fact, we’re kind of obsessed with them. Our team is a group of pet parents devoted to furry and scaly companions. From the moment we log on to the time we’re off for the day, our conversations are sprinkled with stories and photos of our pets’ latest antics.
We’re also a group of devoted pet lovers who genuinely care about the well-being of animals in our community. And that’s why helping pets find loving homes isn’t just part of our business — it’s part of who we are.
Meet our pets
Get ready for cuteness overload.
Bear — aka Uncle Bear, Beary Manilow, Baby Bear

“Bear was originally my grandmother’s dog, and after she passed in 2021, we inherited him. That means that he is technically my uncle. He enjoys windows, peanut butter, and he naps at a level only typically seen in felines. He loves everyone except for the delivery drivers/mail carriers, and he even likes them when they’re not on the other side of the window.” – Ian Knighton, senior platform engineer
The late, great Elmo

“My late dog’s name was Elmo. He was the best dog ever, and I found him in a KSL ad in 2010! I had him up until 2022, when sadly we had to put him down at the ripe old age of 15. He was the sweetest dog ever, my heart dog, and I loved his squeaky toys which he would hide in his kennel. He filled my life with so much joy and was my forever companion. I just think it’s neat that I found him on KSL when I was a teenager and here I am working for KSL as an adult.” – Doe St. Julien, comment moderator
Basking with Rayla

“Rayla the bearded dragon is a spunky, silly gal who loves basking in warm lights, hiding behind her house and eating carrots. Her favorite bugs to eat are super worms. She loves snuggling into people’s necks for evening cuddles and squeezing into small spaces where we can’t grab her.” – Cassidy Wixom, evening breaking news reporter, KSL.com
The small and mighty ZuZu

“Zuzu might be small, but she has a huge personality. She takes offense when she’s not the center of attention and throws a grand celebration every time we return home. ZuZu is exceptionally talented at singing ‘Happy Birthday’ and discovering the coziest spots in the house.” – Eliza Anderson, illustrator
Cozy with Rosie

“Rosie is a Dachshund who loves to snuggle under blankets, destroy any toy we buy her, and food. She’s an opportunist and can easily jump onto a chair and then onto the kitchen table when no one is looking. She sits up on her hind legs like a meerkat to get our attention and it’s adorable!” – Jason Rabbit, Cars team, QA rapid response
Winston the distinguished

“I'm the dog mom of this gentleman called Winston. He is the sweetest boy there ever was. His hobbies include napping (preferably cuddled up to one of his humans), car rides and eating snow. His best friend is the cat. Although it’s supposed to be anatomically impossible, he loves to swim, and if you didn’t know better, you would think he was a baby hippopotamus.” – Krissy Hansen, accounts receivable clerk
Salty — aka Salty Bear, Puppy Love, Puffle

"Salty is named after my favorite beach in Washington, and also after a restaurant I used to go get to-go with family members in in Seattle, and we'd walk on the pier and eat fresh seafood. He is the happiest and friendliest puppy there ever was. Even when he was getting chipped, the tech that was holding him couldn't stop laughing because he was howling and yelping, but his tail was wagging, and he kept licking her face even while he was in pain." – Katie Gleed, director of product
More than listings: Our commitment to animal welfare
Clearly we’re passionate about our own pets here at KSL. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to create a safe platform for other pets to find their forever homes. We understand that finding the right home for Fido is more than just a transaction, so we’ve taken some extra steps to support responsible pet ownership.
Pet adoption
We make it easier for animal welfare organizations to get more eyes on their adoptable animals. Our Petfinder integration pulls listings daily from enrolled shelters and places them in front of your eyes on KSL Classifieds. That makes it easier for you to find your pup cup companion.
Supporting local animal shelters
KSL Classifieds has proudly sponsored several events and partnered with local organizations to help animals find loving homes. The Strut Your Mutt event in fall is a community favorite. It has a dog walk, food, entertainment and adoptable pets. We’ve also sponsored Free Adoption Week for the Humane Society of Utah. Adoption fees are waived, making it easier for pets to be placed in homes.
Listing fees make a safer place for pets
We’ve implemented a small fee of $15 to list dogs and cats on KSL Classifieds. This helps us combat unethical breeders and fraudsters trying to take advantage of those searching for pets online. It’s a small price to pay to ensure our pets are being listed by responsible people.
When you use KSL Classifieds to find your next pet, you’re using a platform built by pet lovers who truly care about the well-being of animals. That means you can feel confident in our commitment to creating safe listings and encouraging responsible pet ownership.
