Beautiful black, round lava pebbles for indoor or outdoor fireplace rock. **Please see below cautions and always use caution and keep lava rock dry. It is a porous rock and absorbs water and can "pop" when the rock gets hot until it dries out. **Pre-tariff pricing. Get your supplies while they last.

The Caribbean, Ivory Pebbles, and Black Lava Pebbles can be used for all kinds of accent rock. They work wonderfully in indoor or outdoor planters. We are currently in testing for the Caribbean and Ivory Pebbles to be used in fireplace applications.

These are sold in 44 lb bags. They can be easily hauled in any type of vehicle. We can also deliver these if you'd like. Delivery is an extra charge and depends on where. Please call or text for pricing.

Key Safety Guidelines

• Only for Gas Fireplaces: Lava rocks are only safe for natural gas or propane fireplaces and fire pits. Never use them in a wood-burning fireplace or fire pit, as the much higher, unregulated temperatures can cause the rocks to fracture or melt.
• Ensure Rocks are Bone Dry: The most critical safety precaution is to ensure all lava rocks are completely dry before use. Because they are porous, they absorb water easily. When rapidly heated, this trapped water turns to steam, which can cause the rocks to pop or explode and launch hot fragments.
• If the rocks get wet, operate the fire feature on a low flame for 15-30 minutes (or longer in humid areas) to allow the moisture to safely burn off. Stay a safe distance away (at least 15 feet) during this drying period.
• To prevent this, always keep your fire feature covered when not in use.
• Proper Placement:
• Lava rocks should cover the burner mechanism but not too deeply, as incorrect placement can cause gas accumulation and a small explosion when ignited.
• Refer to the manufacturer's manual for specific instructions on how to arrange the media for your particular model.
• Use Proper Products: Only use lava rock specifically sold as fire media for fireplaces or fire pits. These products are processed to remove dust and small pieces that could clog burner ports. Do not use decorative landscaping rocks that have not been vetted for fire use, as they may contain other minerals or oils that are unsafe.
• Regular Maintenance:
• Check your lava rocks annually for signs of deterioration (crumbling or breaking down) and replace them as needed.
• Remove and rinse the rocks occasionally to clean off accumulated dust and soot, then ensure they are completely dry before putting them back in use.
• Good Ventilation: Ensure your fire feature has proper ventilation, as trapped heat can cause issues.

By following these safety precautions, you can safely enjoy the natural, rustic look that lava rocks provide in your gas fireplace.
