Silver sold 25% under market (spot/melt) value (see kitco/charts/silver). Silver has a huge upward momentum right now. Price shown is per coin if buying 1 roll or more based on current spot price and 5% wear. Brief history of these nickels: During World War II, the Jefferson Nickel series underwent a significant change. Since nickel was identified as a strategic metal for the war effort, the composition of the five cent piece was changed to 35% silver, 9% manganese, and 56% copper. The 1942-1945 Silver Wartime Nickels minted from 1942 to 1945 create an interesting short set within the broader series. These War Nickels all have the mint mark above Thomas Jefferson's Monticello depicted on the reverse (back) of the coin which indicates it is made of 35% silver. I'm selling in rolls of 40 ($2 face value) and will give allowance of 5% wear. This equates to 2.25 Troy Ounces of silver in every roll. So based on today's Silver Prices ($76/troy ounce), I'm selling (per roll) 1 roll * 2.25 troy ounces * ($76/troy ounce) * .75 (25% discount) = $128.25. This equates to ~$3.20 per coin.
The actual spot value will be assessed when the coins are committed to be purchased. Buyer is welcome to verify each coin for the correct mint marks at time of purchase. I am a private seller and can meet near Salem, Utah (Payson or Spanish Fork area) at a bank, outside police station, etc. Thanks for looking.
