AQHA Registered Leo’s Poco Shadow Bella was named this because she is everything gorgeous!! She is five turning six this year and ready to go multiple directions. She’s been with a trainer and this girl is as smart as they come. The pros…. She is easy to catch. You walked towards the field and she’ll start heading your way. She is dog gentle to people (but in a field of horses she is a mare). She has zero buddy or barn sourness. She’ll ride out on her own. I can catch her, throw a hack on her and go for a bareback trail ride no problem. I’ve even put kids on her for lessons in a round pen because she’s easy-going. I believe she is ready to be started on either cows or in reining. I have a pony in my herd that she relentlessly chases. I think she would make a great cow horse.
Con’s… She’s smart and she knows it. She’ll learn a groundwork drill in the round pen and once she knows it, she’s shortens the steps to get the release. IFYKYK. She’ll push the boundaries to see what she can get away with. An experienced rider or handler isn’t the right term… just someone with strong boundaries. If she wants to eat on the walk or during her ride, she’ll try multiple times to see how hard you’re going to hold that line. She won’t be mean about it, but she’ll be consistent. She’ll also stop during workouts and she will see how willing you are to make her go. If she can get away with it, she will try. If you ride her by another horse, the ears lay back and head lowers. She’s a typical mare. I have video of ponying another horse behind her, and she does reasonably well… but she could decide mid ride that she doesn’t want anyone behind her anymore and pick up a back leg. It’s never been a strike, just a warning that someone is in her space. I have to tie her further away from the other horses because she’ll lay her ears back and let them know they’re too close. She really likes her own space.
Bella really has so much potential and she’s right at the point to be pushed into something. She deserves to be put to work. She’s got the brains for it and the energy. If you’re looking for beauty and brains with some boldness, she is your gal. $9K OBO
