This here is Opie and he is 9 years old. Opie stands at 16 hand tall. We have had Opie about 3 years and used him for all around showing, trail riding and moving cows. He is a very mellow horse with a sweet personality. That being said, he will get pushy with a timid person. He will need a confident beginner, at the least someone who is assertive and won't let him revert back to his bad ground manners. Opie loads and backs out of the trailer, stands tied, and stands for the farrier. He is not fancy trained for any specific event but does go out and do everything he is asked. He does not bolt or buck. We have loved having him and will be sad to see him go. Attempting to downsize the herd as we are selling and hoping to make the process easier.

Please note that Opie does require some maintenance that is very minimal. He will always need shoes to keep his feet set correctly as he came to me with no heels. He is currently in wedges on his front feet. He had surgery back in his racing days for chips. When he is being ridden hard, we give him 1/4 of previcox for any discomfort we can see. It is usually only needed when we have our shows that require 2+ hour travel or trails we've taken that are all day. We have taken him to vet to get it looked at and the inflammation in his knee is very mild.
