VenmoI am selling my Journey concert ukulele (Journey Instruments Solid Sitka/Ebony Concert Uke UC490CE). I am actually somewhat reluctant to sell this one as it is a really cool ukulele (and I won’t be sad if it doesn’t sell). But I have too many ukuleles and I do not give this one enough attention. I bought this ukulele new in January 2026 and it’s sat in my office ever since.
This ukulele is designed as a travel ukulele but it’s also a very good beginner or intermediate instrument. The top is made of solid sitka spruce, and the back is arched which gives it a very punchy sound. It’s actually surprisingly loud for its size. The cutaway scoop is really cool too. It also comes with a passive pickup.
One really cool thing about this uke is the bag that it comes with. Journey instruments are meant to be rugged so you can take them with you on your, well, journey (see what they did there?). This is the most serious outdoor ukulele bag I have ever seen.
From Journey’s website: “The UC490CE is a full scale concert travel ukulele that’s fitted with a solid sitka top and striped ebony back and sides with a super-cool scoopaway and premium appointments and tonewoods to deliver optimal tone and playability for ukulele players on-the go. Paired with our JourneyTekTM ukulele travel case and pickup, the J-ukeTM becomes the most travel-friendly ukulele around. Designed with premium high-density polyethylene foam, a reinforced neck pad, a ballistic nylon shell, and rubberized protective panels on the bottom, the JourneytekTM case is engineered for maximum instrument protection. (If viewing product category list, click on product image on the left to view full specs, otherwise scroll down for specs and media.)”
