VenmoThis polar bear of a pup is IceBear. He is the sweetest most loving pup, and I say pup because he is truly one at heart. My son named him, after the show We Bear Bears,I owned his parents (pictured) mother is 1/2 bassett hound and 1/2 shar pei, she is called a Bashar or walrus dog, its on Google too if you want to see how adorable they really are) and father is full shar pei. I kept this puppy because he was just so squishy and adorable (pictured as well) also my husband said I could haha he is a Bassett hound/shar pei mix but looks more shar pei with a bear coat. he does shed a little. he is the most gentle dog I have ever owned. When he wants to say hello he will jump up gently and place his paws on you while stretching his long body and looking up at you with such love. he wags his tail all the time, especially when seeing his person. whenever I got on the floor he comes up and puts his head in my lap and snuggles me with his backend in the air. like in yoga, downward dog haha
he walks well on a leash and doesnt bark at other dogs or people who walk by us. I take him hiking and can lead him off leash in designated areas. when people pass us and I let them go by, he will pause and sit either beside me or behind me until I start walking again. he is well behaved and doesnt even growl at the passerbys. he really is the best dog I have ever owned. he is derpy. like really derpy. He may bump into a wall because he wasnt paying attention. he doesnt catch food if tossed to him, it bounces off his head then he will try looking for it but it takes a minute haha.
he is great with children, I have a 14, 7 and 4 year old and he loves them and lets them love on him unconditionally. he loves other dogs and playing. Hes really such a softy and lover who loves to snuggle.
He is housebroken, goes outside to potty. I wake up between 4-5am and take him potty. I feed him between 6-7am and then potty again. He is kennel trained and has no accidents whatsoever inside which is awesome. While working (remote) I take him out twice during the day. if he needs to go outside sooner he will let out a little whine to let me know. nothing irritating either, thank the lord. he is considerate
his face is the squishiest part about him..it looks swollen but the vet said that is just the mix of basset and shar pei mouth haha he doesnt even lick, which I thought was odd at first but instead he uses his lips to just gently press them on yours.
his favorite thing is to be chased around the house or yard (ours is a small yard). He acts just like a puppy again.
we live in a small house and he is a larger dog and its just not fair to him to have such a small living space. he needs room to be a dog. he needs a family that will play with him, run around a yard and just give him all the love he craves and deserves.
its going to break my heart saying goodbye to him once he finds a home..and I may cry but I know whats best for him and a new, better home is what is needed.
he is microchipped, neutered and fully vaccinated. I have brought him to Stoneridge vet since he was a puppy.
