Tap is a 2018 gelding who has been recently diagnosed with navicular. He has quite a lot of time off because of it, but I’ve been taking him on light rides and he does great. The vet offered previcoxx, but he hasn’t been limping at all so haven’t started that. He’s also a candidate for osphos or a neurectomy.
I’m happy to share the x-rays with whoever purchases him.
He is in a wedge pad with a rockered toe and it has made a huge difference! He very rarely shows lameness with it. He was fairly sound barefoot but not enough to ride.
Before he came up lame Tap was ridden very regularly. Used to gather and sort cattle, worked horses, done arena work, ridden in the mountains and through town. He is the perfect horse for someone wanting to go on light rides or to go out and check cows. Plus he’s pretty enough if someone wants a pasture ornament.
He needs a confident rider. Could be a kid if he knows how to ride. Since Tap is not a deadhead. He will spook but doesn’t buck or bolt. Loves to be out and great with other horses. Is safe enough to get on and just go (no matter how much time off). Can be a pain to catch in a pasture.
He’s located in Greeley, CO, but I have a ride for him to Goshen, UT right after the Fourth of July weekend.
I need him to go soon, so I’m very open to offers, but I’m not willing to give him away. My husband is happy riding him until he finds his home. He does have a gnarly scar on his neck from an injury as a yearling but it has never affected him.
