Jack is a flashy 15 year old John Mule. He is a big stout guy standing 15.3-16HH. We have had him for 4 years and have used him extensively on the mountain as well as pushing cows. He rides and packs. He is good to saddle, he is good to pack, he is good on the high line, he is good to hobble. He is good in a string, front middle or back. He has never bucked, he doesn't bite or kick. He is gentle but I wouldn't call him a beginner rider mule. His bad qualities: He can be hard to catch in the herd unless hes in a corral. He can sometimes be hard to bridle, puts his head up and doesn't like his ears going thru the brow band and he is bad with his back feet. We shoe his fronts and leave his backs bare and he does fine.
