16H Appaloosa Gelding – Restart/Project Horse

Grade Appaloosa gelding, approximately 8–10 years old and around 16 hands tall. Big, stocky-built horse with lots of presence and a flashy look.

Green broke with a solid foundation, but will need an experienced rider or trainer to continue bringing him along. He had riding about 5 years ago, but was still green then and spent several years mostly out in pasture before I got him.

I recently started working him consistently again and he has been doing very well. He remembers groundwork, lunges, flexes, and rides in the round pen. I also recently rode him again and he did good. He can be spooky/reactive at first, but settles down nicely with groundwork, riding, and desensitizing work.

Has never offered to buck with us. Best suited for someone experienced with project/restart horses. Could make a really nice ranch, rodeo, or all-around horse for the right person willing to continue his training.

He can be harder to catch out in a large field, but catches fine in a pen/corral after being worked a little first.

Loaded right up in the trailer when we brought him home. Barefoot still needs his hooves done. Has some old scarring on his legs from past scrapes and recently got a small cut on his leg that is healing well.
