ApplePayBeen in service for 4 years. Started getting an error code, indicating a Gas Control or Valve Failure. After replacing the gas valve I got the same error code. Because I was pressed for time I went ahead and just replaced the whole unit with a new 50 gallon unit. After talking to a friend of mine who is a plumber, he stated it’s most likely the thermopile, which is a fairly cheap fix if you’re handy.
As is, it will hold a pilot light and fire up but after cycling once it will give you the same error code.
