For Sale: Sequoia

Sequoia is a grade mare, approximately 18-19 years old, with a big motor and a personality to match. She's the kind that likes to move out and will suit someone who enjoys a forward, responsive horse.

She has recently had training and is already made steady progress. With her current owner, she has primarily been used as a trail horse. Previous owners had started her on barrels, but she proved to be too much horse for a young rider.

The Good:

-Fast and athletic

-Good on the ground

-Lunges well

-Gets along with other horses (no fighting or drama)

-Sound (not lame)

-Loves trails

-Friendly

Things to Know:

-Has had some issues with the farrier in the past, so patience and consistency will go a long way

-Needs continued weight gain due to stomach ulcers, but has already improved with current care- needs proper diet

-Can have a bit of attitude and will test boundaries if allowed (needs someone who will not let her push you around)

-Not a bucker, just needs a confident rider

-Picky about getting into trailer (she’s picks and chooses the days she’s gonna fight or get right in)

Sequoia would do best with an experienced rider who can continue her training and bring out her potential if you want her to be a performance horse. She has the ability to go in a performance direction with the right person. If not she'd be good for a confident less experienced rider for trail rides. The priority is finding Sequoia a home where she will be cared for, appreciated, and given a job.
