It weighs only 16 pounds! Anytime you can remove a few pounds from a bike for a 40 or 50-pound rider, it makes a world of difference. I am selling this highly desired and hard to get Islabikes Beinn 20 (small) bicycle. These bikes are made in the UK. The retail price is $680 because the components, materials and manufacturing are racing grade level. This bike has served my son really well because it’s so lightweight and versatile. Now that he has grown out of it, it’s time to pass on to a new rider. The seat and handlebars are adjustable to get 2-3 years of riding from a kid as they grow.
The frame of the Beinn 20 is a 7005 T6 heat treated aluminum and offers a lightweight, sturdy platform to build upon. The 7-speed drivetrain offers enough gearing for steep hill climbs. The gearing uses an SRAM X4 rear derailleur, single chainring and 12-32 cassette and 32t front chainring. The easy pull and reach of the V-brake levers ensure your young rider will learn proper control and good handling habits. The 20″ wheels use lightweight alloy rims and thankfully, have an appropriate number of spokes (just 20).
