VenmoThis is a hard post to make, but I recently graduated and will be moving to Oregon this fall. Since my family isn’t involved with horses, I’m looking for the right home for my Arabian gelding, Romeo.
Romeo is about 25 years old and is just the sweetest boy. He loves people, loves attention, and is great with kids. Children can lead him around, brush him all over, and love on him safely. He’s great for the farrier, easy to handle, gets along well with other horses and farm animals, and is very desensitized and not spooky.
Even though he’s confident and easygoing, he’s also a sensitive horse in the best way. He’s very in tune with people and has always had a special way of connecting with whoever is taking care of him.
He has spent years teaching kids’ lessons and has been in parades. I recently had him evaluated by a veterinarian because he has been showing some discomfort when ridden. We don’t have a clear answer as to exactly what’s going on, but because of his age and the discomfort under saddle, I feel retirement is the best option for him.
Romeo looks amazing for his age. He stays in great weight, is healthy and happy, and most people don’t believe me when I tell them he’s 25. The only special care he really needs is soaked hay cubes because his back teeth are pretty worn down with age. They keep him looking and feeling great, and he’s otherwise a very easy keeper with little maintenance.
I’d love to see him go to someone looking for a companion horse, pasture buddy, or just a really good friend. He still has so much life and love left to give.
I’m asking $1,500 to help with moving expenses, but finding him the right home is my biggest priority. He’s a horse I care about deeply, and I want him to spend the rest of his life loved and well cared for.
Message me if you think you might be a good fit for Romeo.
