ZelleLove a beautiful roan but wish they wouldn’t change come winter time? Well Figs is a VARNISHED blood bay roan which means she is always roaned no matter the season unlike regular roans that come/go. She is the perfect age for a family at 16 years old because she has lots of life and energy to give, but also the experience that gives a strong foundation to pull from. This is such a fun little mare (~14HH) and has been an absolute joy to have in my lesson program. She has packed the littlest kids to cowboy-ed it up on huge multi-day camping trips and even participated in the 2025 Antelope Island Bison Round Up! She is originally from a ranch out in Missouri where she was a pack horse and taught beginner lessons before finding her way to Utah. I love riding her and getting that pep in her for trails with all of her tight turn maneuverability. She is very responsive so rides in a snaffle or a bosal. She has no competitive background that I know of but would do really well for a local women’s clubs or something like that. She is always my go to horse whenever I have someone with little experience who wants to go on a real cowboy adventure!
Kind of does everything: traffic broke, ties, trailers, saddles/bridles, previous people shoed her, crosses water/deadfall, great pony horse, will ride away from barn alone with minimal encouragement, … Never bucked or anything with any sort of malicious intent. Is generally middle to higher up on the pecking order in a herd setting. Currently out on green pasture with no problems.
I would say her only flaw is she does not like loud, sharp noises (when we trail ride past a shooting range she can get very nervous over the guns unless with another confident horse) so wouldn’t make a good hunting horse without more work.
I would ideally love her to go to a family who will love taking her out to do things. Feel free to check out my Facebook/Instagram (@yellowbugfarms) to see more or shoot me a message and I can send you a google album. I have LOTS of videos!! She already has a pre-sale brand inspection and so is ready to head to her new home!
Open to trades or reasonable offers to the right home
