I’m 16 years old and wanted to get into motorcycles, so naturally I did what every beginner shouldn’t do—I bought a completely torn-apart Yamaha XJ650 thinking I’d learn by rebuilding it.
After getting into it, I realized I jumped straight into the deep end. Instead of letting it sit in my garage for the next five years, I’d rather sell it to someone who actually knows these bikes and start over with a smaller project.
As far as I know, I have just about everything for it in the boxes shown except:
- Generator for the alternator\
- Battery\
- Seat
From what I’ve found, those missing parts should cost around $200 to replace.
The bike isn’t currently registered, and since I bought it already apart, I don’t know its running history. I also don’t know why the previous owner disassembled it. Because of that, I’m selling it exactly as-is and being completely upfront about what I know.
What you get: • Engine and major components • Exhaust/header pipes • Boxes of parts shown in the pictures • Rolling chassis • Whatever I have for the bike goes with it
I don’t know of any damage, and I have no reason to believe anything major is missing besides what’s listed above.
