I purchased this from Fisher Cyclery in 1980. I have not ridden it in several years. Time for someone else to enjoy it.
This is a very nice Fuji Royale vintage lugged steel road bike that still looks great! The bike still has the original head badge. Even the Sugino cranks are engraved with the Fuji name. The rear rack lends itself to the overall retro look and the 27x1-¼”” Touring tires have less than 10 miles on them. The frame and fork have been cleaned and polished and the headset and bottom bracket bearing have all been serviced and regreased.
With a 60cm effective top tube and a 62cm seat tube, this is a very tall bike and should fit most riders in the 6'2" to 6'7" range. The standover measurement is 35.75”.
The bike is well-equipped with a 2x6 (aka “12-speed”) drivetrain and would look great as an Eroica bike or vintage hill climber, but it can also make a stylish around-town retro cruising bike.
The bike is in Very Good condition overall for the vintage. It has bits of wear and oxidation here and there, called “patina” which creates the authentic old-school vibe. Mechanically it’s in great working condition.
