ZelleUSA-made original GR1 by GORUCK: 26l volume. Bombproof ruck plate/laptop sleeve, the pack opens clamshell flat for quick packing and reorganization, smooth oversized zippers and zipper pulls make access very easy. Extremely well padded, well stitched shoulder straps and top handle with snake port for hydration bladder. Three rows of MOLLE inside and outside for add-ons. Three internal and one front external pocket for plenty of storage and organization; easy access to each pocket on the move. I have had this bag for a few years and have not gone easy on it, it has kept extremely clean on it's own: no stains, tears, fading on the 1000D body material or reinforced bottom (I believe the bottom is built with an extra layer of 1680 Ballistic Nylon, a solid layer the same thickness as the MOLLE webbing). Sleeve holds up to a 16" laptop with an integrated false bottom: if it drops straight down onto the sidewalk or floor there are a couple extra inches of backpack between your gadgets and the ground to prevent cracked corners or screens. GORUCK does not claim their packs to be waterproof, but their Nylon, quality zippers, and stitching have never let anything of mine get wet through plenty of bad weather. This one would be like the "GR1 USA Throwback 26l" on their website, to check out more pictures and reviews. The 26 litre has been sold out for a while, so this one is a good opportunity to grab one for a little less, and it performs like brand new. For reference, I am 5'10", 195# (so pretty average, maybe just a little wider around the middle and shoulders, between L and XL T-shirt) and was right down the middle comfort-wise strapped tight with a light load (say gym shoes, lunch, and a change of clothes,) just as well as packed heavy for 3 days in the woods with a tent and sleeping bag strapped on, with a couple inches of adjustability either way on the shoulder straps for preference. There are aftermarket chest straps available that I have seen lots of folks wear, and I would recommend picking up a MOLLE water bottle holder to strap to it. If you'd like it shipped, I'll split a USPS flat rate box with you, so 17$ each anywhere in the lower 48. Great bag just barely getting broken in, so far has gotten me to 115 degree weddings in Palm Springs (bought the Groom a matching pack), been my only friend through two-day hangovers in Vegas, maintained a steady voice of reason during some 36 hour catering events; it's splashed around in all 5 Great Lakes, and should continue lasting a lifetime.
