ApplePayThis beautiful vintage Caswell-Runyan cedar hope chest has been lovingly cleaned and refreshed while preserving its original character.
The bookmatched diamond veneer on the front is absolutely stunning, and the solid cedar interior is exceptionally clean and still smells wonderful.
One of my favorite details is that it still has its original Caswell-Runyan key—it’s never been separated from the chest and still works with the original lock. The original moth guarantee label is also still attached inside the lid.
This is a vintage piece, so it does show some age-appropriate wear on the top, but it presents beautifully and has decades of life left.
Perfect for storing blankets, quilts, seasonal clothing, keepsakes, baby items, or simply using as a gorgeous statement piece at the foot of a bed or in a living room.
This company ran from the 1920’s- early 1950’s. I estimate this roughly 1940’s.
