ZelleThis object is a vintage 1930s Duart Permanent Wave Machine. Historically, these heavy-standing units were used in hair salons to bake "permanent" waves into hair using electrical hanging clamps and localized heat commonly known as a hairdressing machine used for giving permanent waves. It features a chrome-plated body with a rotating top section designed to hold heating clamps. The device includes an analog timer dial labeled "TURN PAST" and a pedestal base.It is considered a decorative vintage salon object or sculpture today. It is in used condition with some rust. It does still have the intact cord I haven't checked it for safety reasons but the timer still dings. It's in pretty intact condition for its age so I imagine that the electrical still works. It still has all of its clips that are all operational also.
