This Guys Whizzen, better known around here as “Nimbus,” has been with us since he was a weanling. He’s grown up on the ranch and, for much of his life, has lived on the back burner. He was lightly started as a three-year-old before being turned back out, then brought along slowly. He was never pushed, never overused, and has had plenty of time to mature. I would betcha money this horse will be sound forever because of that.

He’s gathered cattle, sorted pairs, doctored outside, branded, packed salt, and covered a lot of rough country. He’s sure-footed, has plenty of bone, and has always been one of my favorite to cover country on.

When we listed him for sale last winter, we were completely upfront that he had humped up when first saddled in the morning, It was never anything mean but it was something buyers deserved to know. We had him listed on The Cavvy for about a week before deciding to pull the ad. We felt like this wasn’t something he was always going to do and deserved more time instead of changing hands.

Since then, Nimbus has spent another full spring and summer being a ranch horse. He’s been branded on, doctored on, gathered, sorted, and been put in plenty of high-pressure situations where he didn’t loose his cool. More importantly, he hasn’t humped up in over a year. We think it’s safe to say now that he’s on the straight and narrow.

He’s the same big Barbie dreamhorse gelding he’s always been, just with another season of experience and confidence under his belt and we feel comfortable listing him because of that.
