Delta ShopMaster Midi Lathe, great starter/hobby lathe for pen turning, small spindles, and bowls. Includes: 3 turning chisels (spindle gouge, roughing gouge, and a detail tool), face shield, Micro-Mesh polishing pad set (1500-12000 grit) with color reference chart, Tombow art markers, and a few miscellaneous small parts/hardware. Powers on and runs — tested and working with one exception.

There is something wrong with the tailstock threading. It gets jammed up after screwing it for about 1/2”. I took it to a lathe expert and he told me to go get part of the tailstock re-threaded. He ensured me it wouldn’t take them long and shouldn’t be expensive. I just don’t want to bother with it and I don’t use it enough to look into it further.

That being said, the lathe is useable. I recently just helped my family turn 15+ wands for a “Harry Potter” themed family reunion and it worked fine.
