You can pay $900+ for a brand-new trombone. Or- you can buy my son's old trombone for $150, purchase a soft-shell case on Amazon for around $27, pay the approximate $105 to make the instrument be in tip-top shape as shown on the repair order invoice from a local instrument repair shop a little over a year ago, and save yourself approximately over $600! The trombone does play in its current condition, but I would highly recommend getting it in top shape before starting little Jonny or Suzy on it. The trombone brand is Conn, which makes for an excellent starter student instrument. I have included photos of one small imperfection on the instrument, as well as showing the one broken clasp on the hard case. Two other closure clasps still work, but I wouldn't recommend them for daily transport to/from school. My son has moved to percussion, so we no longer need his trombone.
