Two part-lease openings are available, OR one rider may take the full half-lease.
$150/month Part-Lease: The 3 riding days included in the half-lease are split between two riders. Each rider receives 1 riding day per week, and the third day may be shared or given to either rider as mutually agreed upon between the two lessees.
$300/month Half-Lease: One rider receives all 3 riding days per week.
In addition to the monthly lease fee, lessees contribute toward shared vet, farrier, and supplement expenses. The amount varies depending on whether you choose the part-lease or half-lease and will be fully explained in the lease contract before any commitment is made.
Minimum initial commitment is 3 months.
Meet Starr, our approximately 15 HH, 13-year-old black Quarter Horse mare. Starr is a seasoned, versatile mare who offers the safety and experience many riders want without sacrificing responsiveness or athletic ability.
About Starr
Approximately 15 HH at the withers
100% sound, sane, and sweet
Smooth gaits and a level-headed, responsive personality
Ridden consistently for approximately 11 years
More “go” than “whoa” – energetic and naturally forward-moving
Trained in show jumping, mounted archery, dressage, trail riding, and more
Extensively trained using Clinton Anderson’s Downunder Horsemanship Method, reaching the second/intermediate tier
Attended two Downunder Horsemanship clinics with Jeff Davis and has been ridden by him
Has competed with riders of different ages and experience levels
Great on trails, including Dimple Dell and the Jordan River Trail
Stands tied, loads, bathes, picks up her feet easily, and is very catchable
Rider Fit
Starr is experienced and safe, but she is not a dull or “kick-along” horse.
She has intentionally been trained to remain calm while still responding to light, clear cues and maintaining her own forward movement. Her Downunder Horsemanship foundation emphasizes a horse who can relax and think while remaining responsive to the rider. She does best with someone who can provide calm, confident, balanced, and consistent communication and is comfortable riding an energetic, forward horse.
Starr may be appropriate for a confident beginner willing to continue taking instruction, as well as intermediate and advanced riders. Final approval depends on the individual rider and their compatibility with Starr.
Lessees must be willing to follow Starr’s established Downunder Horsemanship methods and cues. Prior DUH experience is not required, but willingness to learn and maintain consistency is.

Two Complimentary Lessons Per Month
The lease includes two complimentary one-hour lessons with me each month:
• One required
• One optional
The required lesson helps maintain clear, consistent communication between Starr and each rider and gives us an opportunity to address questions, refine cues, and keep her established training consistent throughout the lease.
Meet-and-Rides Welcome
A meet-and-ride is required before approval, and prospective lessees are welcome to ride Starr multiple times before deciding whether to lease her.
I want anyone leasing Starr to feel completely confident in the horse, the riding arrangement, and the responsibilities involved before making a commitment.
All leases are subject to owner approval based on rider ability, horse-and-rider compatibility, safety, and Starr’s well-being.
Minors Welcome
Minors may lease Starr if they are an appropriate match and receive approval, but an adult must supervise them while at the boarding facility and while handling or riding the horses.
Disciplines, Trails, Shows & Clinics
Starr’s experience allows for a wide variety of riding. Lessees are not restricted to one discipline, but all activities are subject to my approval based on Starr’s health and conditioning, the rider’s demonstrated ability, and whether the activity is safe and appropriate for that horse-and-rider combination.
Approved activities may include recreational riding, schooling, trails, jumping, mounted archery, clinics, competitions, and other disciplines.
Starr may also attend approved off-site activities. A trailer may be available for trails, clinics, or shows for an additional fee with advance notice.
If you’re looking for a horse who is experienced, versatile, level-headed, forward, and genuinely responsive, Starr offers an opportunity to enjoy a well-trained horse without taking on the full responsibility of ownership.
📩 Please message me if you’re seriously interested. I’m happy to answer questions, provide additional photos/videos and the full lease agreement for review, and arrange multiple rides before you make any commitment.
