The Canon EOS Rebel G is a lightweight, plastic-bodied 35mm autofocus SLR film camera introduced in 1996, featuring full automatic alongside manual exposure controls. It has motorized film advance and built-in TTL flash. It uses the Canon EF lens mount. Further technical details (probably more than you want to know) are nearer the bottom of the page.

I've decided to finally get rid of most of my old collection of film cameras and various accessories. I bought this body probably 15 years ago and have never actually put a roll of film through it. Too much equipment and too little time! I have used the lens on another camera. The camera seems to work fine. By "fine" I mean the shutter, the film advance motor, auto-focus and flash work and the exposure system is appropriately responsive to variations of light. Of course, just because the shutter and metering systems respond to changing light doesn't mean the accuracy of those systems are up to factory spec. I would be surprised if that were true for any camera more than a few years old. But minor deviations -- especially with print film -- might not be noticeable or can be compensated for through the Exposure Compensation feature. It has many features so I haven't tested beyond the basic functions. I strongly recommend downloading a free user guide. One basic function I can't test without film is the actual film advance mechanism, but the advance motor actuates every time I fire the shutter so I'm fairly confident in that function. I have no intention of film testing. Not worth the trouble and expense to me. Batteries are included.

Physical condition is practically like new. The viewfinder is clean. The lens is in great condition and the case is fairly good.

Check out the "Sold" listings on ebay for this camera -- most of which are not film-tested either -- and I think you'll agree that this asking price is pretty fair. The average "Sold" price (factoring in any shipping charge) on a one-page sampling was $58.53, $31.11 for just the body. So buy local and save!

Manual exposure compensation range of ±2 EV (in 1/2-stop increments). AE lock enabled with a button. Autobracketing range of ±2 EV (in 1/2-stop increments) for three consecutive frames. Built-in Flash: Located on pentaprism hump. Retractable head. TTL autoflash control (fires automatically in backlight and low-light conditions in the Full Auto and three Programmed Image Control modes) with off-the-film metering. Flash sync speed set automatically anywhere from 30 sec. to 1/90 sec. depending on aperture setting. Fill-flash enabled. Red-eye reduction lamp provided.
