What’s the difference between KSL’s Verified Profile and Phone Number Verification?

You want safer online transactions. We do too. That’s why KSL Classifieds is continually working to make our marketplace a safe place to do business. To help protect you from scammers, we provide two different features: Verified Profiles and Phone Number Verification.

How do KSL’s two verified features differ?

You can buy and sell with more confidence when you use KSL’s two verification safety features. Each option gives you an additional layer of protection for your online transactions.

How KSL’s Phone Number Verification works

KSL most recently introduced Phone Number Verification to cut down on fraudulent text messages and calls between private buyers and sellers.

Buyers must verify their phone number on their account in order to see seller phone numbers in KSL Classifieds listings.

Sellers must have their phone number verified if they want it to appear as a contact method on their listings. Even if you have a Verified Profile, you will still be required to verify your phone number.

It’s quick and simple to complete. To verify your phone number:

• Open your KSL account

• Tap My Account

• Tap Phone Numbers

• Tap Verify This Number and follow the instructions

If you choose not to verify your phone number, you can still use Messages, our internal communication platform.

What is a Verified Profile on KSL?

A Verified Profile on KSL Classifieds means your identification has been checked by our partner, Stripe Verified. You aren’t required to have a verified account, but it’s a good idea. It helps buyers feel more confident about transacting business with you.

All KSL Classifieds account holders can create a Verified Profile in just a few minutes. You’ll be asked to:

• Upload a picture of your valid driver’s license, government-issued photo ID or passport.

• Upload a selfie to prove it matches your identification.

Once your ID is verified, a green check mark will appear on all of your listings on KSL Classifieds. This lets potential buyers know they will be talking to a real person from our local community — and discourages scammers who rely on fake names.

Buying and selling with strangers requires a certain amount of trust, something scammers depend on. Phone Number Verification protects the way users can connect with each other, while a Verified Profile helps them trust the people they’re connecting with.
