7‑year‑old gelding who SELLS GRADE. Yes, he had papers. Yes, they are now somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle of paperwork. He was bred by Bar Y Ranch Quarter Horses and carries their brand. (Serious buyers: I’m happy to explain everything I’ve done to track down his info — just ask.)
Now let’s get to the fun part.
This guy is a PROJECT with a capital P. He was bought as a project, and shockingly… he still is one. Life happened, houses are expensive, so are weddings, and apparently you can’t pay a wedding or a mortgage with good intentions and half‑finished horses.
He needs lots of wet saddle pads and an experienced rider. He has never offered to buck, but he is a little herd‑sour and has definitely gotten away with a few things in his past life. On the ground he can be goofy, watchy, and not exactly a farrier’s dream. We’re talking “please be patient with me” energy.
BUT — and this is a big but — at some point this horse had a really nice start. He stays collected, soft in the face, and will absolutely plant his butt and drag 11’s like he means it. He hunts a stop like it’s his life mission. With a ton of consistent riding, I could see him making a cool breakaway, heel, or calf horse prospect. Emphasis on a ton
If you’re cowboying, roping daily, or need something you can use hard and put miles on — he’s your guy. He’s athletic, he’s gritty, and he’s got the raw ingredients. He just needs someone who actually has the time to bake the cake.
He is not, and likely will never be, kid‑safe, grandma‑safe, husband‑safe, or “my cousin who rode once at summer camp” safe.
We’re asking what we have in him: 4,xxx.
We have NOT had the time to ride him. I do NOT have videos. I cannot promise I will have time to get videos. If you need a horse with a highlight reel, this is not your moment.
PPE welcome at buyer’s expense.
